The Murmur VST plugin was developed to be a filter sequencer, similar to Breather but without the randomness.
Murmur allows up to 8-step sequencing of two independent, parallel multimode filters. At each sequence step, the cutoff frequency and resonance value of each filter, as well as an overall gain level, can be set.
The Amp Gate and Flt Gate controls determine how long within each step the gain and filter settings will remain constant, and the Curve control determines the shape of the transition from the gate period to the next beat.
The Steps and Size controls effectively set the time signature of the cycle: Size of “4th” and Steps of 3 are 3/4 time, etc. A bank of indicator lights shows the current sequence step. The Sync control determines whether Murmur synchronizes its clock to the host or to an internal clock whose speed is set by the Tempo control.

Notes:

FltGate is the first filter from each of the two sequences that corresponds to the filter being used. As each filter will be used for up to 10 times, this means that FltGate will be used up to 10 times. In the same way, AmpGate will be used up to 10 times.
The envelope of the filter sequences is controlled by the Amp Volume and Amp Gain controls. In addition, the Amp Velocity control affects the envelope time constant, which controls the rate at which the envelope will change over time.
